Picture this…
It’s the day of your dog’s grooming appointment. You’re getting ready to leave the house and you say to them “do you want to go see (insert groomer’s name)?” Their ears perk up and their head tilts at the mention of one of their favorite words. You repeat yourself to solidify the plan and their curious “did you just say that?” energy turns into ecstatic “omg you just said that!!” energy. As you continue getting ready, they follow you around excitedly wagging and wiggling until you finally make good on your promise, get them in the car, and head toward your destination.
You round the corner onto the street where the salon is located and your pup starts to whine and squirm with anticipation. They know where they’re headed! You pull into the parking lot and your furry friend can no longer contain themselves…literally jumping up and down in their seat impatiently waiting for you to let them out!
You are then dragged straight to the door (no time for detours!) and, when your groomer comes out to greet you, you witness such a display of affection from your dog that you wonder if they ever even loved you in the first place?! The smiles, the wags, the kisses, the squeaks and squeals, the happy pee…it all tells you exactly what you need to know.
As you turn to leave, you take one last glance at your baby happily trotting away from you with their second best friend knowing, as you know, that they are in the BEST hands!!
This is the experience we want every pet and pet parent to have with us!! Admittedly, for some dogs, it will never be this exciting. But it’s ALWAYS our intention to create the best experience possible for each pet. We do this by building trust and a foundation of positive feelings around visits to our salon.

The New Beginnings program consists of 3 short visits approximately 15-20 mins each spread out over the course of a month or so. No actual grooming is done at these sessions (with the exception of nail trimming-this is done during session 2 or 3, depending on how the dog is handling everything). We are simply creating positive memories, building a relationship, and offering a slow easy introduction to the salon experience.
